InnerCity Projects Studio Installation

2011

InnerCity - a multi-media installation based on New York City and the movement of people in transition. It explores the experience of being in-between destinations and how, in our minds, we are often elsewhere. Employing devices that combine visual, choreographic, filmic and sonic elements and overlap poetically and metaphorically, InnerCity creates a world between dream and reality. InnerCity provides a quiet refuge within urban life. Visitors enliven the work, moving through a labyrinth, composed of streets of ephemeral mesh and concrete cinder blocks. The public passing through witness and partake at the same time, co-constructing a dreamlike flow from the outer world to their own inner city.
